northern hem

all i've yet to feel
i felt in Geirangerfjord 

the quiet tundra lifting valley's aim -
my spirit leapt, and there i wept
piling norway's storied grey.
in sight of a lone red house
all my visions of a life to be
in with the misty fjord i took with me
all i've yet to feel

wake without

when i wake and without
a nearness many move in knowing
alone in heart all inside i cry out
to life! to heaven! to dream! o woe
betide! when i wake and without --
for my pulse i've a lonely go

if i may live to feel all i've felt

i carry near my pulse, nearest my heart
in my own mirroring a swallowing sea
the island swells in dreams i've dreamt
but to quiet and always feel out of breath
when i but feel the brimming waves reach
craggy shore and breathe my name

all the notes in nature's hand
i call a search within myself--
as innocently as when travelling,
from far away, from near my breast
i gave it away, does he remember?

Torn from poetry’s bend

His words fell silent and dropped my hand

Tonight he took his cap and left the stage --

Today I run through barren fields and into the maze.

northern winds erase the fear I felt

Stained

Words stained in viper's blood,
Those daggers chill my bones.
Love's her wild sharpened sword;

Wash hands and quit nature's role --
Cold separation's ill-equipped to reign,
But no music or lines await next act.

Brings me to my knees
Predators and thieves
How they draw me now
With slight and humble bow
I submit and take my leave
Though they crawl beneath my sleeve
Biting and stinging they allow
No footprints so mark this wintry vow
From sunken state hungry to receive
Her open arms, only then will I believe.

Hellish

Texas went and took my name
Muted my lips by October's hand
Chased me into inferno with painted face
And left me choking on monstrous err
Texas went and took my heart

flounder

call me a creator
and I'll call you a thief;
paint me in muted blur
and I'll walk in blue relief;
carry me by guilt's remainder
and I'll fill pockets with my grief;
lead me north of man's evader
and I'll stumble in last belief.

Quake

Limbs carry me numbly as these wolves eat free
The error of my ways, the fumbling frazzled me.
They scold and teach across life's gusty sea;
But my frail heart meets death soon and simply.

Drowns True

Fetch the captain and ready the crew;
Those eyes of beauty no longer greet symmetry
What sealed his heart – our memory drowns true,

Never ashore merely left to a swallowing sea  –
The good compass misguided by a rose

cloaked with inviting reality -

quiet spirit rises and falls -

dispelling fears and dreams,

an inviting pulse
kindles a verse within.
listen, love, my heart's ajar -
a welcome vulnerability
stirring in me such rapture;

in the in between,
a starving phase
desire and direction
pull me
to familiar place;
it's waiting for me
draw close, chance,
and give me the stars.

lying here, next to you
finding myself
an ode for
meeting lips
a ruling rhythm
all around, a blur

visions of two
     walking in hand
with numbered
     days
beginners, we are
     a welcome feeling
marvel let in
     with confidence

a face

hypnotise me
with your elegance

all i see

light

call to me
     in the morning light
in the glow of downtown
     speak with those eyes
     in summer's afternoon
it's green, so green

awaken in me such melody
and stir me from end to end.
i see in those eyes a life free,
a place to capture and send 
love's ships to the sea.

Heart

rhyme with me, dear heart
in those painted words
within a night we'll start
threading a melody as two rare birds
so often do when no longer apart

Rejoice

Time crept upon this day of mine
And welcomed tomorrow's voice.

I await for the clock's telling chime,
Marking the day in which all rejoice.

Leapt

Remove my lyric and bury love's intent.
Sensibility, nigh my breath, composed for those eyes;
Arrested yielding moment & there my spirit leapt.

Lay me by a distant shore and sew me to earth’s edge
‘Til breath in tune, my northern wind and light,
Secure to ocean’s overture, to thy cliff of weary ledge,
Shepherd me to look no more for first sight.

Remove all melody and reveal thyself.
Lay upon the pier of weathered wood;
Stretched far to ocean's wealth
To whisper where the poet stood.

Fire

I close my eyes to find the absent light:
Alone, I can't see, I can't feel,
Lost am I amid those words I've read.
Fight to find soul's sense; a melody:
Once the frequent fire of my sleep.

write me, write me from the meadowland.

autumn winds sigh relief where i belong

by craggy shores and with ocean's hand,
in the ecstasy of sweet robin's song.

there awaits a changing tide;
for northern winds hum our names
lighthouse, speak volumes and guide
until aurora summons my one wish.

written for blue eyes; those eyes.
i await fear's response:

a melody for all time.
for now, i'm with reverie.

this room of mine is starless!
riddles do imbue nearby divisions
those words uncloak to confess,
and yield for your reflection.

a vulnerable impression he'll undress!
the dithering runaway emotion
releases our mystery in excess--
fashioning these spells for the oceans.

go now, greet the blue light
far off & with noted distance
a pirouette in the azure bright
flare of night's soul trance.

sapphire silhouettes manifest
voicing warmth for lyric's tune
with time impressed upon their breasts,
the vanishing of the cerulean moon.
